This month happened to contain the birthdays of several of our family members and friends. It is sometimes very bittersweet to be here in Korea while the people we love and care about back home celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, births, and weddings. Even worse are the loved ones we’ve lost in this short amount of time and were unable to see one last time.

Sometimes it’s difficult to keep in touch with everyone or talk as often as we’d like, so yesterday we set out to make a video for all the birthdays this past month contained. From sun up to sun down, we traveled around our city going from location to location to film the various scenes. It was a hot day and a labor of love, but in the end I think we’ve created something that goes beyond a simple birthday wish. So to all our family and friends, even if it isn’t your birthday, we hope you recognize that some aspect of this video pertains to you. Even though we are far away, we still hold you close to our hearts and you are never far from our thoughts.

To our expat friends: Living abroad means that you miss out on so many of things that happen to your loved ones. We hope that all of you keep in touch as much as you can and remind the people that you’ve left at home how important they are to you; I know that we don’t remind them as much as we should.

And without any further ado, here’s our video message to all of you from us.
