One of our favorite day trips while staying in Ubud, Bali was our motorbike excursion to the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. While we have exhaustively described our time at the terraces and shared a number of photos, we also shot a bit of video so that our readers can follow along and get a sense of this beautiful place in a way that only video can allow. Enjoy!
We had an amazing time trekking up and down these terraces hillsides and encourage anyone fortunate enough to visit Bali to make the short drive (or ride) to these terraces. The cafes are very relaxing and offer many spectacular views of the terraces and are a great place to drink a beer and watch farmers plant rice by hand and use antique tools to cultivate these watery paddies. The Tegalalang Rice Terraces will require a bit of balance to plod along the narrow pathways, but a relaxing afternoon in this stunning place can also provide balance and relief from the crowds of Bali.
We just drove past these in Bali! So glad we got to see the rice terraces through you guys! I want to go back so bad and see all things we missed and spend more time in Ubud! We were kind of secluded which was nice, but we want to explore more! How was riding the motorbike on their crazy windy roads?
