Fall break is over and we are starting the slow process of sorting through all of our pictures and video from our recent Chuseok road trip. Last week, we headed out of Yeosu at four o’clock in the morning in order to beat the insane traffic that comes during nearly every Korean holiday. Our plan was to head north to Chungcheongbukdo province and find a quiet camping spot along the river. Though we spent a good portion of our time relaxing without any technology or cell signal, we did manage to peel ourselves away from our guerrilla campsite enough to explore some of the outskirts of the two national parks nearby.

Woraksan National Park

So, while we continue to sort through photos and write more about our time, please enjoy a few shots of our time spent in the rural countryside of Chungcheongbukdo province.

For only having river baths, we sure do clean up nice.

Korean Makgeolli

Makgeolli, our drink of choice for the entirety of our vacation.
Quick tour of Guinsa Temple. We unanimously agreed it was the most impressive Korean temple we’ve been to.

Danyang Ondal Cave

Ondal Cave outside of Danyang. We tried to camp nearby, but got rained out.

After the rains canceled our camping plans, we headed to Changwon where Mark and Kayley live to spend the remainder of our vacation.

We will share more photos from our trip soon, so stay tuned!
