If the purpose of a shakedown cruise is to shake out the kinks and find all the problems with a vessel, we're over here in the desert, still shaking it all down. After massive repairs in Winslow, AZ, we've continued familiarizing ourselves with all of the ins and outs of bus life. Things that are broken, unnecessary, or needing improvement are all around us and we're slowly streamlining our bus conversion. Turns out that building a bus for 5 weeks doesn't really prepare you for what life is actually like living within our 8x13 rolling home. While we're trying to get back into the swing of things with our website and making videos, our biggest problem is the signal to share these from our remote locations. We were definitely spoiled with high speed Korean internet!
Currently, we are in Colorado and we finally have some decent internet and can return to sharing videos! Everyone has had a ton of questions about our bus and life on the road, so we thought we'd answer a few of the more common ones we tend to get.
We hope this video answers most of your questions about our life living and traveling aboard Onward, but we're fairly confident people will want to know more. We will do a proper bus tour soon so that we can share a more detailed look at the bus and our design. If you have any additional questions, be sure to drop a message in the comments section below. As always, we love hearing from our readers and enjoy any feedback you've got for us!
Your video was fun and informative! I have been concerned re: the mechanical issues you have. Is the engine rebuilt? How is the transmission? Do you have a sound system? I wish you luck and safe travels and am looking forward to fun with you both. On a side note, I really liked the picture you took of my nephew Zach Tucker and his new wife Lauren Tucker in South Korea! Both plan to move nearby me in Texas soon!
Oh, we’re so glad you enjoyed it! Thankfully, our mechanical issues seem to be resolved for the time being. The engine is working fine these days (knock on wood) and we’ve enjoyed being back on the road. We do not have a traditional sound system on the bus, but we do have a lot of music that we can play over our Bluetooth speaker!
And thanks for complementing Stephanie’s photos to Zach and Lauren! We enjoyed sharing our time during their year in Korea and can’t wait to visit them on the bus!
